Kilnsea

Today 16/11/21 we headed to the Holderness Coast due to the reports of Codling starting to show up on the beaches, looking at the sea forecast it was to be calm and the swell direction was north to south, I got to the mark at 10am set up and started my quest for the elusive cod, first cast I managed a Coalie then it was quiet up until high tide I was thinking it was the first fish first cast curse... then 20 minutes before high tide my left hand rod started rattling I struck into it and it was Cod on! As I reeled in I could tell it was something special as I could feel the force of a paddle like fin being applied fighting against the rod, It was a good workout for my new Penn Fathom 15SDs! Once I had won the fight I managed the land a 5Lb Cod the biggest i've caught from a beach and defiantly a keeper and that concluded my session. Today's rigs were shorerigsforrods.co.uk 1/0-3/0 & 2/0-4/0 Pulley Pennel rigs as it was a mixed ground venue, bait was frozen black lugworm and unwashed squid wraps.
